There are various types of web hosting services. We will see each of them one by one.

This is the best suite web hosting package for beginners and small business owners. In this type, your website is put on the server which is shared by other websites also. Means, the one server has thousands of other websites running on it. This is very cheap and probably the best option of hosting.
2. Cloud Based Web Hosting
This option is used by various big companies who have big data on their websites. This is actually a collection of various servers to make a big giant server. If needed, the more servers can be connected to the structure to increase the efficiency. There is a pay as per you go type strategy.
3. Virtual Private Server (VPS) Hosting
This hosting is for greater speed and efficiency. This is the hosting where you are provided a the disk space, memory, RAM. It is a virtual environment provided with features and feel of a real hardware device. It is somewhat costly than shared hosting, but proves as a good solution if your website receives a lot of traffic.
4. Dedicated Server
This is where all the powers comes up. In short, you are having a separate webserver which has only your website on it. It is a special hardware device of which you have all the authorities including its OS and other softwares. The dedicated server is a highest level of server. It has no worry about having your resources consumed by other websites.
5. Colocation Web Hosting
This type of hosting is same as dedicated server, but you bring here your own hardware device (Server). The service provider company takes care of its power supply, internet connection, and security. But, you are responsible if device failure occurs and you have to replace it. Unless you have good technical hand, you should not go for this type.
6. Self Service Web Hosting
Bring your own webserver, set it up and start your website on it. In this method, you will do it all yourself. So, you have to take care of all of its power requirements, technical issues, internet connectivity and temperature maintenance. You can add the functionalities you want on your hosting plan.
