Welcome Readers. We are here going to study the C language programming introduction. The old but efficient beginner friendly programming language. It is the basic mid level programming language. C was originally developed by Dennis Ritchie between 1969 and 1973 at Bell Labs, and used to re-implement the Unix operating system. It has since become one of the most widely used programming languages of all time, with C compilers from various vendors available for the majority of existing computer architectures and operating systems.
Why C Language?
C language is the beginner level language and used to understand how the machine works according to the instructions in the program. It is the best option to start learning programming. This is the C programming introduction.
Here we are going to setup an environment under which the we can do C programming and see the output. We need the Dosbox emulator in which we will be writing source codes and see the output. It is the user friendly and GUI based IDE. That’s why we are using it. You can download it for windows using this link. OS other than Windows can search online and get it in just seconds.
After downloading you will get a .zip file. Extract it on your C drive and run the TC_DOS.exe the blue screen will open and you can start coding through it.
Compile and Run
Hope you have completed the coding . Save the file with .c extension.
To compile the program, simply go to the menu or there’s a shortcut (Alt+f9).
If the program has no errors, the success dialog will be displayed after compiling. Now, run the program, you can do it using a GUI, or use shortcut keys (Ctrl+f9).
After successful running, you will see your output on a black screen with the white text written on it.
Now, what to write in the source code window? We will see further tutorials on different concepts.
